Very well done. I WILL need to watch this several times to absorb it all. Thanks Erich.
Thanks for the easy to learn videos. Could you cover how to look at sheet music and tell what chords are being played by the notes?
Excellent video again Erich! Perfect practice makes perfect performance and applying fundamentals of a knowledge develops excellence. I can’t thank you enough for developing the Lifetime UGS for all of us. To understand guitar in a simplistic format it is invaluable to me personally. Truly, at the price you offer it is a steal. Every day my toughest decision is; where do I go next?
Thanks Erich,
No matter if this information is new to some or the ever so important practice of reviewing. I so appreciate, enjoy, and am energized by this type of foundational lesson. The amazing notes posted by others shows I’m not alone. Using this information not only gives opportunity for better and much smarter practice sessions, but can also open the door to composing melodies and riffs to pair with the chords and their inversions from other lessons. I’m truly great full!!!
Thank You
Awesome! Clear, succinct, I didn’t get bored and I want to put this new knowledge into practice now. Thanks Erich!
I loves it, thanks for sharing man!
I know it’s a quick overview and much to take in at first, even overwhelming… but with a little explanation it’s supa fun to learn about those lines notes and symbols. NOT boring at all. 🙂
M.
Thanks Eric, your drawing is actually quite good. Could you do some lessons that go more into depth on playing in Dorian like Santana & also Mixolydian. Santana is able to make Dorian sound very melodic. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
I love using visual aids in theory. I think most artist would. I also like when notes are “color-coded” with different colored chalk/pencils/pens—That was a system I used to pass chemistry in college… and this so much easier than college chemistry!
Thanks! I needed a refresher on this stuff?. Just one suggestion: when you’re teaching musical theory on a board, leave out the rambling background music; it’s not loud, but it is distracting. Always good lessons from you. Keep up the good work??
Thanks Erich! Helps to demystify! Took piano lessons when I was a kid and helps to bring that all back
Another amazing video. Still learning so much from you. You give so much for free but so much more inside the UGS.
Nice video. I’ve been playing my entire life…learned all this and more as a kid but forgot much of it. This was a very efficient refresher to refamiliarize me with the basics.
thank you Jordan! http://www.yourguitarsage.com/30
Great video. I will definitely be watching this one a few times. Very informative
I’ve been playing guitar for a long time, all self taught and all by ear, this is very informing for me, hopefully you continue these lessons, kind of like a reading music for dummies hahaha speaking for myself, thanks sage Ohhhhh anddoes this also apply to piano??
A good tutorial. Knowledge of the bass clef was necessary for me to convert a piano score to guitar such as Minuet in G.
dude this was great reminded me I learned how to read music around 50 years ago and had forgotten but now I remember it again .
I’ll prob be sticks ng to tab but knowing the proper notes helps always
This is my first time watching your video. This is on my bucket list and so far I think that I have finally found the video that may help me. Thank you!!!
