Any compilation that begins with the Scene from Swan Lake gets my vote. That’s been my lifelong favourite piece of music since even before I was born; according to my mother, if I was restless in her womb, she found that playing that piece quieted me. Its emotional impact on me has never lessened over time, no matter how often I hear it.
