you’re solving a murder mystery at your boarding school | a dark academia playlist
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* what mystery are you solving?*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
I enjoy making these playlist videos…when copyright doesn't have my head, so I hope you enjoy this one! Speaking of copyright, I would put the timestamps in the description, but I've heard that makes your video more susceptible to being taken down. So timestamps can be found in the pinned comment below.
Get sleuthing! ?

Yes! Those are some of my favorites, too! I couldn’t imagine making this playlist without including those tracks. Thanks for watching! 🙂
literally the plot of truly devious (im reading the second book of the series)
“Where do you look for someone who’s never really there? Always on a staircase…”
“But never on a stair,” she said out loud.
“Come again?”
Stevie was already on her feet, and David followed.
–
Back in Minerva, she and David went right to the stairs, those creaky beasts that would always remind her of Hayes on that first day, when he got her to carry his stuff.
–
The stairs were a tight coil, and underneath was a curved bit of wood, running her hands up and down to feel for any openings. David knocked on it.
“Sounds kind of hollow,” he said. “I guess I never thought to go and beat on the stairs before.”
She knocked as well. There was definitely empty space behind. It was entirely possible that there would be nothing at all behind this structure, just dust and air, but her heart was thumping and her brain felt clear.
This is my favorite playlist ever. It’s the perfect music for writing my book and gives me a feeling of excitement. Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching! It means a lot. 🙂 Maybe consider checking out my extended version?
Pov: The all girls bording school my mother had sent me too was strict, yes, but not strict enough.
Bodies started dropping when I was in my third year of secondary school. Everything changed that night; nobody trusted anybody else, whispers turned best friends against one another, and all anyone would talk about was when the killer would strike again, who they thought it was, and why someone would kill an innocent girl.
I still remember the events of the night fresh in my mind as if it had just happened. I had snuck out at midnight to go see my forbiden lover when I turned the corner, I saw her body laying in the snow, two roses where her eyes would have been. My thoughts were running wild as I rushed back to my room, I couldnt tell anyone, for if I did, I would have gotton punnished harshly for being out and about at midnight. I couldnt sleep, but when I heard the headmasters scream I knew everything was going to change.
The killer everybody calls “The Red Rose Killer” has claimed 13 more lifes sence that night and everyone has been waiting for the next body to show up.
People have been whispering and pointing fingers but they’re all wrong. I knew who the killer has been all this time. Its someone I’ve been protecting, I dont think she knows I know but theres been obvious signs I do. I love her more than I can describe, we’ve been dating sence last year of primary school. My lover is a murderer and I’m wrapped up in this lie to protect her…
@Countryhumans REUPLOADS Its something I came up with on the spot but I’m considering writing more and posting it on wattpad ?
when you have gone to a boarding school all your life with a “dark academia aesthetic” and you are just now realizing that people wish to be living like you.
I’m turning sixteen and I’m a sucker for murder mystery’s so my sweet sixteen is a murder mystery dinner and this is the perfect playlist to play in the background ?
Currently reading a good girls guide to murder and needed something to play and this is perfect thank you
“Mira?”
The girl was distracted, wandering the corridors in her ghostly white frock, her eyes open, her breathing peaceful.
She was sleepwalking. But Greta was most focused on the fact that a thin, sharp knife was grasped in her hand. She could only watch, her breathing hicthed, as Mira slowly headed to the secret room.
Greta followed, aware of the clock ticking, knowing every murdur occured at exactly twelve.
Mira? The murderer? The idea was foregin. She was the smart girl, the one who always topped the class, the one all the guys stared at in awe, lust in their stare. The one who a posse followed around, the one with the best things.
The one who everyone loved. And I’d thought she loved them too. Behind every smile, every laugh
Greta stumbled, the sound loud in the silence. Mira turned, disturbed in her slumber. She was deep in dreams, but she moved towards the sound. Fear was palpable. She giggled, making Greta even more uneasy. She raised the knife.
Greta tried to run, but she was frozen in place. Mira suddenly stopped giggling. Her blue eyes snapped open. She screamed and dropped the knife.
It was perfect timing. Greta had heard this scream every night, at exactly 11:59PM. Greta picked it up.
She looked right into Mira’s eyes and ran her through.
The clock struck twelve.
– to be continued
I need more or else I won’t be sleeping for nights I swear….
wow
This is really good!!

POV: “Listen closely. The walls are talking, but still keeping secrets to us, poor humans that craved more.” Hermoine looked around at the tall walls of the library.
Burying bodies was a normal thing for Hermoine, considering the cutthroat atmosphere of the academy. Not literally, but all the books in the library convinced the young student that everything was possible. Big bright moons, candlelit dinners alone, warm coats and layering, cinnamon, staying up late to finish a book, footsteps on cobblestones, dark lipstick, cold hands. Everything she could see around the academia, everything she could smell and taste left a bitter taste on her lips.
The library lights and atmosphere could be unmatched. Most of the days, Hermoine volunteered at the library, helping others and placing back the books, just so she could spend more time in her quiet, safe place. After what seemed like an eternity, silence finally came. Burning candles and the smell of used books, everything that set her soul on fire. Without hurting her. Without hurting others.
Dancing to an old record, placing back the books and occasionally reading a few more pages, she tried to ignore so hard what made her heart uneasy. She kept hearing a strange voice. Strange but beautiful, trying to allure her. So she shook her head and turned up the volume. The classical music helped her focus on the notes, forgetting the voice.
“Understand me. I’m not like an ordinary world. I have my madness, I live in another dimension and I do not have time for things that have no soul.”
― Charles Bukowski
She opened a book and read the first paragraph before closing it and placing it on the shelf. She glanced at the window for a moment, removing the headphones so she could hear, once again, the walls talking to one another. The silence of the city in the late hours when the sun was slowly setting down through the fog was something she craved. To sleep, to enjoy a warm cup of tea and to spend her day by the lake, with a book in her hands and nothing else. Inside the academia, everything had a story. A dark, morbid one, but no one talked about it. The silver jewellery she was wearing around her neck reflected one last ray of sunshine. Her eyes, the same. Something that seemed to be so eternal, and yet, it wasn’t.
The room was getting darker and darker so Hermoine left the books on a table and looked around for the light switch. “Oh God, how long must I suffer here?” She whispered to herself, in the same dramatic way the books told her to do, and tucked a strand of her dark charcoal hair behind her ear. She enjoyed the unreal, the dramatic way of being of a classical author, every word that was too much for a human to understand. She was always in a search for the unreal, as she liked to describe it, but found nothing but a graveyard of buried emotion and cobwebs.
